Look for the evidence of your capabilities and enoughness - the proof is already there.
So often, we get caught up focusing on what we haven't achieved or the areas where we feel lacking.
But it's important to be really intentional about searching for and acknowledging the ways we are actually good enough.
Look for the evidence
Why am I the person for this?
What am I bringing to the table?
What have I already done that demonstrates this is possible for me?
And not just thinking this, but getting a piece of paper out and writing it out.
(I've got a good episode on this called - Ep 55 “Bring Doubt To Doubt” on Steep Your Soul podcast).
Here's how I practice this…
Whenever I do something stretchy (like speak to a larger group of people)
….before I rush off and jump into the busy work, I take time to review how it went.
I deliberately look for the things that went well, and what I can be proud of. I write these down. I speak them out loud.
If I don't do this, I've found my mind will nit pick at things which lowers my confidence.
Sitting in sufficiency and a sense of pride about how I did, makes it so much easier to step out and do something like that again.
It also brings lightness, ease and much more enjoyment to how I work.
When we consciously recognise our strengths and successes, it reinforces our sense of self-belief.
It becomes easier to trust in our abilities and to step out and do it again.
